Волгоград, пожалуй, самый милитаризированный город из всех, в которых я был/жил. Когда там живешь, это не замечаешь. Но когда надо показать его иногороднему гостю (хоть даже собственному сыну), вдруг обнаруживаешь, что кроме музеев и памятников, связанных с массовым убийством людей, смотреть в городе практически нечего.

Volgograd is likely the most militarized city I've lived/visited. When you live there, you generally 

don't notice that. But when you show the city for a guest from the other city (even if it's your son), you suddenly find out that there's very little to see in Volgograd but the museums and memorials devoted to the mass murder of people.
